Swim lessons

Jax and Justin had their first Daddy and Me swim lessons this past Tuesday. Leaving the house armed with cameras galore, I wasn't sure who was more excited...Jax or Daddy! The swim lessons are held waayyy out in Clovis at Jamie's School of Fish. It is an outdoor pool that during the cold months has a dome over it to keep in the heat. And let me tell you...it was sauna hot! However, since with this pregnancy I am always cold...I was in heaven! The boys on the other hand begun sweating instantly! As we sat waiting for their turn I pulled out the camera (with brand new batteries in it) and the sucker wouldn't turn on! Needless to say I was just a little more than upset. Luckily I had the video camera too! So you all get to see Jax in action!
Now...most of the "action" is shot from a distance and is of their backs. For the first little while Jax was a little unsure of the class and would search frantically for me...so to make it easier on the Daddy, I kept my distance! Jax is learning to hold his breathe so he can go under water, to "reach for the beach" which is to head to the side of the pool and pull up, and other water familiarity skills. I enjoyed watching and my water boys enjoyed the doing--perfect partnership!
Hopefully I'll finally put this camera curse to an end and get some good still pictures...fingers crossed.

1st "Official" trip to the Fire Station!

Not sure who's happier here...
Look mom...I'm driving!
woo hoo!!!
more screeches of delight
whoa...this is high!

I know that Jaxon has already been to more fire stations in his short time than most people will ever visit in their entire lives, but this visit was special. This was the first visit that Jaxon took pictures with the rig that his Daddy was driving! For the first year of Jaxon's life, Justin has been an Arson Investigator. It was a wonderful job that allowed Justin to come home at least once a shift to check on us and visit Jax. He was able to do this because he was driving a pick-up...not a rig. So now back into the field he goes and more importantly back on a rig!
I'm not sure who was more excited to be in this Rescue engine...Justin or Jaxon. Jax was screeching and yelling he was so excited! He even got to blow the air horn (which scared the daylights out of everyone BUT Jax!) He was having so much fun that he did not want to leave...poor buddy. With his love of all things vehicle this child is destined to scare the life out of me!!

I love to help...

Jax has always loved to be in the middle of whatever Justin and I (or anybody else for that matter) is doing. Lately he's taken that "whatcha doin' " attitude to a whole new level! If the garage door opens--the boy HAS to be out there. He makes a bee line for the quads and starts to mess with them and help daddy out. The same goes for the dishwasher. He wants to help! We've actually had to start planning when the dishwasher gets loaded or emptied...cause if it's open for too long watch out! You'll get a less than helpful helper! I just hope he's still as interested in doing dishes when he's a teenager! ;-)
2 boys working...2 FFD t shirts...2 cheesy smiles...2 afros. I'll tell ya...when they match they go all out!

It thrills Justin to no end that Jax loves these loud toys as much as he does!

See??? I can help too!

Easter...ducks, snow and more!

This year for Easter, we joined Jax' Gma, Mamoo, and Aunt B for a weekend in the mountains. Jax soaked up all of the attention he could get! He was thoroughly spoiled by his daily soaks in the hot tub and baths in the gigantic soaking tub. The weather was beautiful, we had sun, rain, fog, wind and finally snow the last morning we were there. Here are a few pictures that I've been able to scavenge from my mom's camera. I (very predictably) forgot all modes of memory recording...yes...AGAIN!

Jax checkin' out what the Easter bunny brought him...this duck quacks 3 songs and it cracked him up!
Playing peak-a-boo
He loved the broom more than the snow...a melt down followed very closely after this picture cause we tried to take it away to get a better picture. Needless to say, that did not happen!

Writing with Gma. He loves to color, write, draw...all of it! And check out the way he holds that pencil...self-taught thank you very much!

Here is a video (that I would totally like to take credit for) that Gma put together with some pictures and video of Jax. Word of warning...the music can make ya a little teary. Or is that just me and my pregnancy hormones talking again?? Either way. Enjoy!
