Fun with Gannon!

Jax and I sent Daddy off for a boy-date and we decided that Jax needed a boy-date of his own! We spent the morning in Merced with Tiffany (my bestie) and Gannon. Gannon is 2 months and 4 days older than Jaxon and just turned 1! The boys played really well together...well at least in the same room together. After a little play time at Gannon's house, we tagged along to the Jam Bandwich music class! We had so much fun that we are thinking about taking the entire session with Gannon! Here are some pictures of our day courtesy of Tiffany!

See...I can do it!

music class instructor Mrs. Shelly...Jaxon loooved her! he crawled over and got in her lap and then didn't want to leave with me to go home!

Double Digits! the big One Zero...

You read it right...we've made it into the double digit birthdays (monthdays??) At 10 months, this kid is all go, Go, GO! (which makes getting this pic super tricky) Jax has been practicing his solo standing and will walk using his walker toys or your hands. He has mastered clapping and throwing a toy for Halli. Jax also knows the signs for all done, more, and sit down.(using the signs is a totally different issue) In the past month we've also discovered that he LOVES to boogie and seems to have gotten his booty shakin skills from his Aunt B (we're in the process of compiling a dance-dance remix video for posting). And true to Simmons form...there is NO way he's going to do any of this unless the fancy strikes him. There's no danger of a constant horse and pony show here (unless Mr. Man is in the mood!) But my absolute favorite thing to report is that at 10 months old...my Jaxon has turned a cuddle-bug corner! He now treats me (and Justin as well) to hugs and snuggles through out the day. I keep bugging him for besos (kisses) and so far the most he'll do is indulge me by moving his head close to my lips...but I know that sloppy open-mouthed kiss is just around the corner! (from Jax...not Justin ;0 )
1st Birthday party plans are in the works! We'll let you in on the details as they come!

*** Just a look at exactly how difficult it is to get Jax' Red Chair pics...

Peak-a-BOO!

One of Jaxon's favorite new pastimes is a rousing game of peak-a-boo! The funny thing is that he plays with whatever object is close by (a hat, bunny, book, block, blanket or water bottle label??) so you have to keep an eye out so that you say BOO at the appropriate time. He really gets a kick out of scaring you. So if you happen to be greeted with a BOO (the highest honor the kid can bestow at his point in time)...please be kind and act sufficiently scared for the boy.

Ummm...not a fan of the sand

So in the end, Justin's wonderful sand-free pen wasn't needed at all! After a coupla days, curiosity got the better of me and now that I knew I had a safe (read: clean) area if needed I wanted to know just how far and fast Jax would go in the sand. Answer?? Not very far! Turns out he HATES the feeling of sand on his hands. By the end of the week he had grown much more tolerant of sand on the feet and had stopped trying to stand flamingo style while barefoot! On the hands however, a totally different story! This clip was taken after I finally stopped laughing so hard I was crying. His first few handfuls were accompanied by whole body shivers and gagging! Yes gagging! (now you see why in the world I was laughing not videoing!) So watch closely and you will catch a couple of shivers...
Justin was slightly bummed that Jax isn't a lover of sand...yet. I however count it as a blessing-what better than a built in invisible fence?? ;) I know that our days of keeping him confined are coming to an end so I'll take it while I can!

Back to Pismo we go!

This year Justin and I decided that it was high time we got back into(since I opted out last year what with being 7+months pregnant) our traditional New Year's trip to Pismo. Well actually it would be the "week after New year's trip" The beach is empty and all of the partying crazies have gone home! So with all of the toys, food, blankets, and more food loaded up in the trailer...off we went! This trip proved to be a bit trickier what with Jaxon being mobile this time around (and I not looking forward to changing sand filled diapers) but luckily Daddy had a great idea to keep Jax in and sand out!

Jax and Daddy hanging out sand free!

The weather was beautiful and we all really enjoyed just hanging out, playing volleyball, riding the toys, reading books and surfing (for the boys...water's too cold for me!) Jax really loved riding (safely) around on the toys with Daddy and just being outside. I was, admittedly, bad at the whole picture taking thing this trip...but here are some of the very few pictures that I did take! I promise that I will be better next time! : )

Jax and Daddy on the 70--he LOVES those handle bars and goes right for them any chance he gets!
Ahh...the oh-so-fashionable onesie on the Outside of the jeans! This is what happens when Mommy goes to town and Daddy does the diaper changes. ; )

Giving the RZR a trial run
Please excuse our camping-chic attire...but Jaxon decided that this chair was just perfect for the 3 of us. He was on my lap and crawled off and into this storage basket underneath!

I guess it seemed like the perfect place for a snack...he sat here munching on goldfish until I took him out! Funny kid, seriously has a mind of his own and fierce determination to go with it!

Trying out Dad's surf board. Luckily his buddy boy wet-suit is still a little too small and swim lessons haven't been taken yet, otherwise I'm sure Justin would've had Jax out hanging 10! (sigh...these two are going to test my nerves of steel(haha) with all these adventures!)

Jax decided that the wagon wheels needed a little realignment. Luckily it was while we were packing up to go home and it kept him entertained and out of trouble!
