Baby Girl Update

Last week (at 21weeks 4days) I had my monthly appointment with our midwife Renee. After hearing the adorable little heartbeat and taking some measurements, Renee announced that "I" am again measuring ahead. The outer measurement from pubic bone to top of the uterus should be approx the same number in centimeters as number of weeks gestation. So my expected measurements would have been around 22centimeters. I won't reveal my number (I am a lady!) But I will say I exceeded Renee's expectations (overachiever, I know!) enough to get another ultrasound to make sure this little bean isn't on the ginormous track her brother was!

After our neonatal photo shoot we were told that this little girl is right where she should be. 15oz. Not too big, not too small. She is still developmentally right on track!! (uterine sigh of relief here...)

Her birth date has also been set. If you'll remember we get an appointment this time around. The c-section will be done on October 19 at noon! So mark your calendars...she's on her way!

Woodward Park

Just a little update on what we've been up to lately...

The weather has been so nice lately (hard to believe I know) that Justin and I decided that it was time to take Jax to Woodward Park. This is the biggest park in Fresno. There are bike trails, ponds, play structures, a Japanese Garden with koi ponds....all kinds of stuff. A good time was had by all...well except when it came time to feed the ducks...

Jax running back to Mommy. He was NOT thrilled with the ducks and geese, which in his defense are HUGE and very brave. He loved throwing the food to them but was not a fan when the birds starting begging.

Jax' favorite thing to do was try to move/shake the bars. He would shake with all of this might and best grunts to try and move those suckers...cracked me up!

Down the big slide with Daddy. There was a smaller slide as well but he seemed to prefer this one and by the end of the trip the little dare devil thought he'd try it out solo--I strongly disagreed with that, much to his disappointment!

Memorial Day at Lake Comanche

Ever since Justin was a little path of destruction (or around 5 years old...correct me on this Kim) he, his brother, Mom and family friends have been lake camping for Memorial Day weekend. This is the first year that we were able to bring Jax into that tradition! After a very long week we packed the trailer and headed out of the "No". Destination? Lake Comanche Reservoir.

Jax eventually LOVED the water (a little too much for my comfort) but until he got comfy he realized that standing on Dad's feet kept his out of the water!

Checking out the super cool floatation station that Gramz bought. The center had a mesh bottom so we were able to lounge while Jax played in the shallow water in the center. Like I said...super cool! (note: there are no pictures in the actual water...I know my limits people and that would have equaled Bad News!)

Happy Guy (even if he did wake up at 530...yes that is in the AM)

Jax and his Uncle T totally bonded this trip. By the last day Jax was calling for "T" and was TJ's shadow around camp!

Our Buddy Boy also loved loved to walk Walter around the camp. I think I've added yet another chore onto his future list! ;-)

...and baby GIRL makes 4!

You read it right people...this little peanut is all girl! She (hehe) is measuring right on schedule which was really strange to hear. If you remember her moose of a brother started measuring ahead early on! The due date remains the same October 23, 2010. However due to the nature of Jax' hasty delivery and some blood tests that agree that we could have the same issues with #2, our wonderful midwife Renee executively decided that we will have a scheduled c-section for the week prior to the due date. There will be at least one more ultrasound done to set the final date! Sooo...now that it's official--Let the shopping begin!

Ladybugs!

While we were in Pismo there seemed to be an infestation (for lack of a better description) of ladybugs. Sounds really cool huh? Think gnats or flies on a warm picnic day and multiply that and you get the idea of exactly how many ladybugs would descend on our campsite daily to get warmed up. They were everywhere. On our tables, awning, seats, us! At first Jax was really curious about the little red ladies that were landing on him and then...well...he got really good at "catching" them ala Lenny (of Mice and Men). We found many wings minus the bug on his little hands!

Back to Pismo we go...

My boys took me on another camping trip to Pismo for Justin's birthday. We decided that it was time to take the new trailer out for a spin and what better time to take the schnauzers on their first trip to the sand! So we packed up the trailer and let me tell you what...2 dogs, 2 adults and 1 buddy need A LOT of stuff!! Luckily, we have the toy hauler so everything (couches and beds included) fold up flat against the wall so that there is just a big space to load copious amounts of junk in!

Jax did much better with the sand...and by much better I mean he wasn't gagging each time it touched his skin. He still much preferred to have socks or shoes or feetie jammies on however. By the end of the trip he was able to walk barefoot around the campsite! woo hoo! Small victory!

On the other hand, the doggies loved the sand. They spent most of their time digging or chasing the sand their feet kicked up while walking. ;) They may not be smart but they are pretty!

We've also realized that Jax is a wheel addict. As in...if it has wheels he HAS to touch it/fix it/figure it out. Most of his waking time was spent playing with the wheeled objects around camp. He also made the connection that his helmet=a ride on the three wheeler. So many times a day he would toddle over to his helmet, put it on all the while making his "I want" sign. And let me tell you...Justin was sooo proud of this he just about Burst!!

Here are the pics (few that they are) of my boys. I didn't realize how often I am behind the camera until I didn't get a single picture of myself or the three of us the entire trip! Oh well... ;)
