New toy

Thanks to the recent rain and chilly temperatures, we've had to get a little more creative when it comes to keeping Jax entertained and wearing him out throughout the day! He was given a bag of 100 plastic balls for Christmas and those paired with a pack-n-play we no longer use has equalled at pretty good (well confined) time! He loves to try moving around and has figured out that throwing all of the balls out of the p-n-p is a pretty good time! Poor Halli...it's driving her nuts to have all of these wonderful balls to chase and she keeps getting yelled at! But this is what adds to Jaxon's fun...playing fetch with Hal is one of his favorites!

Helper (?) boy

Jax loves to be in the middle of whatever it is that I am doing...reading, cleaning, on the computer, cooking dinner...you name it--he wants to help out! His latest mission is to help out with laundry. He used to be content with the folding...and now, as you can see he wants to put it away himself...well...sort of. Maybe he's trying to put himself away?? I'm so confused!

Dance Dance Remix

Here a just a few little clips of Jax shakin his money maker! ; )

Month 11....

This is the last post that I will be able to say Jax' age in months! In just one short month he will be ONE YEAR OLD...I can't hardly believe it. Ugh...enough about the impending birthday...let's talk about what this wild child is up to now...
Jax' crawling skills have hit Mach One speeds. There is no such thing as a "safe place" in our house (who am I kidding?? this is soo HIS house!) His memory is also amazing. Jax is all to aware of where his toys go, where you put the remote when it was taken from him...I could go on. As we speak he is trying to get OUT the doggie door to play outside! Thank goodness we have that double door or he'd be on the loose! In the past month Jax has turned into quiet the little monkey--climbing on the couch, the ottoman, and his all time favorite climbing spot...the Red chair! As I've mentioned...there is no such thing as "safe" anymore!
Here he is using his blue chair as a stepping stone into the Red chair...

The buddy boy is also learning to master the fine art of table manners. He love loves to eat with a fork and spoon. And he's really gotten pretty good at "stabbing" his food...but watch out! cause his aim isn't so great and the kid packs some force with his downward stab! ;) The spoon is still a little bit tricky but makes eating oatmeal sooo much fun (if fun=messy!)

As per usual, Jax "talks" all day long. His "words" are becoming a little more recognizable. Well that or I am just beginning to learn his language and therefore understand what he's saying. Truck sounds, dog barks, dog, hi, mommy and daddy are all things that I swear I've heard lately (but don't take my word for it...I'm sleep deprived!)
We hope all is well in your corner of the universe!

Children's Discovery Museum

This duck in on the roof of the museum!
This weekend we took a road trip to the Bay to visit the Bay Area-ites (even though some were missed...) We had a great time. And were able to take Jax on his first trip to the museum! This is no ordinary museum...it's a Children's Museum with a room/gallery set up exclusively for Early Childhood development! As we walked in we saw a Fire Engine, Ambulance and Wells Fargo Stage Coach for play and pretend. All appeared to be legit apparatus that seemed to have been retired for the museum. I think that the big kids (us) were more excited by what we saw than Jax was...but all in due time.

nooo...I don't think so Dad.

We headed right up to the Wonder Closet...everything here was designed with the littles in mind. Art that focused on all of the senses...as well as many science experiment corners and a separate area for the kids to create their own art. By far our Favorite spot was the crawlers room. That had stairs, ramps, wavy floors, and different display boxes and tactile toys! Jax loved a little nook that was cut into the wall...3 walls and the ceiling were mirrors! (who wouldn't love that right??)

where's the real Jax??
We also spent some time in Bubbleognia playing with bubbles. We missed out on the Water Works display this time...but we will not miss it next time! (and we'll bring a change of clothes in preparation!)
I loved watching his eyes as Jax took off exploring, broadening his world and coming to the realization that my "baby" isn't so much a baby and his world is only going to continue to grow!

Heeelllooo Teethers!

Thankfully all of the previous weeks leakages have not been in vain...we now have the top row of Jax' "grill". So he now has his two front bottoms, the right I-tooth and middle right tooth came through next...with the left middle and left I-tooth breaking through as week speak--or scream in Jax' case! In reality, despite a little more whining these teeth haven't seemed to bother him as much as the first two did. He tends to have his fingers in his mouth often these days...which is much preferred to MY fingers (or Justin's) which he likes to do when your not paying attention...ouch...lesson learned! ;)

Captain Leaks-a-lot!

It's hard to capture the amount of liquids flowing out of this child's face...but you kinda get the hint. (take a look at all the shiny...its either drool or snot!) We are once again thick in the throws of teething! Right now Jax is working on getting those uppers through. He has gnawed the right middle front and right I tooth through so far! So although he's going to be a little lopsided for a bit, rest assured the other 2 are very, very close behind! Looks like he'll have a toothy grin for his 1st birthday after all!
