6 month stats

Jax had his 6 month doctor's appt Friday. He was weighed and measured head to toe! He is in the 95% for weight at 21 lbs 8 ounces (which is a 5 ounce gain in 1 month) and the 90% for height at 28 inches long. His head circumference is 19inches! In all he checked out just fine! Dr. Jones gave us the go ahead on solids...we now get pancakes, breads, all fruits and veggies, crackers, mac and cheese, ice cream...pretty much what ever we are brave enough to give him! Jax' teethers are definitely on the move and the Dr predicted that they should break through sometime before Halloween (hurry please! the drool is killin us!)

We also took him to get his 6 month pics (we pick them up next week and will be in the mail as promised!) The photographer was pleasantly surprised at what a smiley guy Jax is. We got our allotted number of poses in record time! Here is a sneak at some of our favorites!

Music Class

Jax was lucky enough to land a music scholarship (already?? I know...he's a lucky lucky boy!) Thursday was our first day of class-it is once a week for 10 weeks. There are 3 other moms and babies in the class. We get to sing, play with baby friendly instruments like bells and shaker eggs! The program really focuses on the babies and the natural noises/music that they make...which is really fun when you start to recognize thats what he's doing. The only sour part of our trip--The Horse song...Jax HATES it. There is galloping involved...good with that. And some bouncing...loves that. But when the horse noises start, the poor kid Freaks Out! The teacher finally got the hint and skipped the horse neighing sounds and our guy was all smiles. Is this the beginning of a deep seeded fear?? ;)

First Trip to the Book Store

Grandma's school had a pizza night and bookstore fund raiser this week so Jaxon got to have his first visit to the bookstore! He loved looking at...well...everything! His eyes were huge taking in all of the colors. G-ma read to him and then let Jax pick out his own books! Hopefully this boy will love books as much as we do.

Breakfast with Daddy and Aunt B.

Mommy finally had a couple of days of work this week which meant that Aunt B and Daddy were on Jax duty! They are a great tag-teaming pair...Jax doesn't stand a chance against them! ;) However, on this particular breakfast, the winner is hard to determine. Was it Jax? Aunt B? The spoon and berries? I'll let you be the judge.

6 months old in the Red Chair

Today is Jaxon's half birthday! I am amazed at how fast 6 months can go! Some of his favorite pastimes at the ripe old age of 6 months include jumping in his jumperoo (he's really gotten the hang of the jumping thing), sitting up right on the floor and grabbing favorite toys, trying to figure out the crawling thing (this is not his favorite actually-he gets pretty mad that he can't just GO already!) He loves to chew on anything--fingers, toes, the dogs, anything he can get a hold of! Jax has also started to throw in some consonant sounds in between excited shrieks. We can hear him practicing his sounds as he falls asleep and wakes up (diediediediedie) Super cute in the light of day...a whole lot less cute at 5 am. His culinary taste buds continue to expand with mango, graham crackers, tortillas, watermelon, honeydew, and berries being the newest additions. And he really is a smiley kid...there are some days where I just know that his cheeks hurt from all of the cheese he's given us!

This is such an exciting age and with the holidays approaching we are looking forward to pictures in the Pumpkin Patch, Turkey day football, and Santa! We are also having 6 month pics taken this week...so keep a look out cause one's headed your way!

Big Kid

In the space of just a few days...we realized that Jax had not only out grown his little blue bathtub...but his wonderful (or so we thought) corner crib! As he grew and became more mobile, Jax was finding every side of that cute little crib and squishing himself into corners! After too many sleepless nights, Justin and I went on the hunt for a new crib. Jax is much happier in his big boy bed! Baths are even more fun now that he has a little more room to splash and kick-kick and the high sides keep all of the water inside *gasp* the tub!

Can you believe that in only 19 days I'll be posting yet another red chair picture with our 6 MONTH old buddy boy in it??? ouch...that kinda hurt my feelings...sigh
