Just like my dad...

Jax was on the counter while I was making dinner...and true to my nature I had a candle burning. (so sue me I like things to smell good) I was trying to interact and the little sucker would NOT pay me any attention.  He was mesmerized by the flame-Just like his Dad!

Jax' First Camping Trip

This past weekend we hooked up the trailer and headed to Lake Nacimiento for camping! Jax did amazingly well! He handled the 3 hour drive like a champ (ok...a little (lot) longer than 3 hours cause we got a flat on the trailer and had to wait for a new spare in Paso)  Once we got to the lake, we realized how HOT it was...thankfully there was a breeze that required Justin to move and re-level the trailer so we could cool it down a bit as there weren't any hook-ups for us spoiled trailer camping types. ;)

Jax spent most of the time in a diaper or swim trunks because it was so hot.  And he continued to be a good sport through the whole thing...he even "unloaded" in his swim trunks for us--with out diaper protection! Needless to say--we threw those dang shorts away...there was NO way I was packing them back home to clean...yuck.  He wasn't a huge fan of the waves crashing on the beach-they kept loudly splashing his face...so Dad hooked him up with his own little duckie pool.  For our first outing, it was a success. Next time we'll make sure that there's hook ups to keep our boy cool...or we'll just head to the beach like we usually do!

Gannon's Visit

Jaxon's best friend Gannon (my BF Tiffany's son) came to visit us the other day!  Gannon and Jax are 2 months apart with Gannon at 5 mths and Jax at 3. The boys took turns playing with the jumper-roo and then were kind enough to chill together in the infamous red chair for picture time!  So far we are lucky these little guys get along...cause they really have no choice in the matter--they are destined to be good buddies!

Water Baby

Jax has taken his love of the water to new levels! He's grown out of his newborn bath tub-his feet now are able to touch the end and rather than "kick-kicking" he's practically launching himself out of the tub!  So we've up graded to the super cool duckie bathtub!  Its totally inflatable and there is a noise box in the bill that quacks!  And while its still just a tad bit to big for him (it'll be so much better when he sits with a little less support) the fit is much better--and really it is way cuter (already teaching him the "important things")

He has also done a coupla hot tub dips.  While visiting Gram and Bob-O, Justin and Jaxon decided to test out the water.  And our water baby loved it! Actually I think he enjoyed looking at Dad's colorful tattoo as much as the water-but either way they both enjoyed themselves!  Luckily we came home with a hot tub from that bay area trip and Jax has been in the "pool" everyday since.  Looks like a full size pool may be in our future!

3 months old!

Today Jaxon Mathew is 3 months old! (amazing) At 3 months he is in Love with his hands and spends most of the day chewing on them, when he's not playing on his mat or in his jumper. He's also noticing his feet and contemplating on how exactly he's going to get them to his mouth for a good chew.  Jax still loves bath time-splashing and kicking up a storm! His smiles are big and cheesy-just like his parents'.  In the past coupla days we've also been able to squeeze a giggle or two out of him, which is THE BEST sound we've ever heard!  He is also in the process of switching himself from a 3 hour eating routine to a 4 hour. (this was totally his decision...he just would not eat at his normal times!)  Night times are going well-but I've learned my lesson the hard way not to mention or brag about it--cause it always comes back to bite me!! ;)  Jaxon is getting more and more fun to play with everyday!

Jumper-roo!

Since our man Jax has been spending more time awake during the day-Justin and I decided that it was time to expand our baby entertainment tool box.  So off to Baby's R Us we went.  The three of us had a great time checking out the various jumpers, walkers and entertainers (and there were a million of them!) But thanks to some pre-shopping and getting advice from Tiffany we were confident in our decision to stick with Baby Einstein--He hasn't done us wrong yet!  And even though our new bouncer toy is for 4 months and up- Jax is having a great time bouncing himself around (thank god for head control!) His favorite toy is the frog that spins around and works really hard to grab it!  Just one more milestone under our belt!

Little Red Wagon

Justin and Jax attacked their first Father-Son project yesterday...assembling a Radio Flyer Wagon for Jax.  Luckily Jaxon insisted that Dad follow the instructions to get it put together correctly! After a quick spin around the house-the project was deemed a success!
